Katie Begg

ICR Coordinator

I’m Katie, a postdoc at the ICR. I spend my days delving into cancer genetics, looking for changes that make tumours easier to treat. Outside the lab, you can find me running or on my sewing machine. I’m buzzing for Pint of Science this year, see you at the pub!

I am a PostDoc interested in Cancer Research. Currently, I focus on cancer’s genetic vulnerabilities as potential therapeutical targets. When I am not in the lab, I like to hike and enjoy the outdoors, ideally concluding the day with good food and a pint.

I'm a PhD student at the ICR's Centre for Evolution and Cancer. I study the mechanisms that allow paediatric cancers to evolve and become resistant to treatment. I have a great interest in science communication and I'm looking forward to help other researchers share their science through our events.
